Nimonic 81 alloy is NIMONIC alloy 81 bar or heavy section may be softened by a heat treatment of 2 to 4 hours at 1100°C followed by air cooling. A solution treatment of 8 hours at 1100°C followed by air cooling is recommended prior to precipitation hardening
